That was an easy tip dunk if he hadn't given up on the play and stood there waiting for the ball to land on his hand. The ball couldn't have came off anymore perfect but he didn't even jump.. most likely because he thought the shot clock was the game clock.

Just poor understanding on a bang bang play. Prob why a lot pf players still play through the whistle or buzzer a lot of times. Only mystery is why the game clock stopped, which is what confused Paul to thinking there was more time.

The alley wouldnt have counted because the shot clock would have expired, plus Portland would have gotten possession with about a second to play and a timeout. Paul got it on the rim which gave them the extra second, which was plenty of time for a point blank tip in.
