i watched that whole show expecting some crazy shyt to happen after hearing Play was a stick up kid, but damn... they censored/filtered the shyt out of that episode. They didn't talk too much about Luv Bug though. What was going on there? What did Herbie say to them? He has those evil Diddy eyebrows.

Story is 100% true. It was the early-mid 80's so don't expect to find a bunch of evidence detailing his criminal past. The timeline from his stick up kid days to making music has a gap though but just because he made feel good music doesn't mean he's never done goon shyt. Tons of 80's rappers were in the streets without rapping about it. Rakim wasn't just rolling with a click of drug dealers because it looked cool. Big daddy Kane had a couple of spots around BK.

It isn't like Play said "Yes, I was the top hit man of NYC, I bumped off a lot of notorious names" All Play said was "Hey, when I was younger I would point a gun at people and say give me your money" I think that's a safe bet if Play's dad was a influence on him and it seems like he was. His dance routines probably were the "shake em down" dance after he hit a big lick.

He should do a remake w/ Lyfe Jennings of "Stick up kid" That would crash Worldstar.
