Chronic 2001

Has there been another album released (in any genre) since then that is mastered/produced/engineered/mixed as perfectly as Chronic 2001? I would really like to know. The audio of this album is so wide, crisp and clear that it's like it's recorded in 3D. If you listen to the album with some decent headphones, you will see exactly what I am talking about.
From a purely production standpoint, I have YET to find anything post 2001 that tops the overall sound of this album. It is mixed perfectly IMO.
It is on par with the mixing/mastering of those classic Pink Floyd, or Steely Dan albums.

not all albums are meant to sound "crisp" and "clear". doesn't necessarily mean their mix aren't as good/better. depends on the intent and also on how fresh/original/beautiful the intent is executed.

do you mean has there been an album with a better quality mix or do you mean has there been an album with a sound as "crisp" and "clear"?

Better quality mix for sure. Hip-hop in particular. I have been a hip-hip head since '84 (yeah I'm ) but I can't think of another album on the same quality level.

i'm no expert on the art of mixing but i felt like the Justice album (cross) was super quality.

i'd say the last 3-4 tracks were kinda blah but the rest is pretty cool.

It's come on shuffle before I'm like trying to press the skip button. But yeah I'll definitely give it a listen..was spinning The Chronic vinyl at my BBQ last weekend.

Which albums though homey? And I'm talking about production/mixing wise. None of those artists you mentioned are production centric save for Ye and Dilla. And IMO, Dilla's production is not in the same bracket as Dre. He is in his own lane. Chopped sample based.

that west coast chronic sound was the shyt until mmlp/eminem show and grodt came out and 50 and eminem took over dre's sound. dre hasnt been able to get that classic west coast sound back since. and for better. no body wanna here dre spitting over that explosive shyt nemore. nikkas stopped c walking 10 years ago shunny. k. lamar is the new west coast.

also documentary and one or two other game albums have solid production that could easily match some of the 2001 tracks. only beats off 2001 that are unfukkwitable are still dre and xxplosive.
