Everyone is talking about kids but honestly kids today don't listen to radio like that. I have younger cousins in their teens. The only time they may hear the radio is in a vehicle. Other then that, they get their music online like everyone else.
this is no different than when any other generation on teenagers(at least males that are seriously into rap). its really no different than us even now as adults. so thats not the issue. and like you just said, THEYRE STILL LISTENING to the radio in one way or another.
i bet they still grew up listening to the radio before they put together their own collection, and i bet their selection of music is heavily influenced by those years of radio-training. and them being teens means that radio was already beyond trash when they started listening.
