While I'm not a proponent of the OOW birth rate, there's an actual primal urge behind this.
Keep in mind, I'm not excusing anyone.
The truth will hurt a lot of feelings but that's because as a consequence of being of higher intelligence, we try to rationalize these things with logic when honestly, we're still animals driven by centuries of hardwiring and primitive desires.
It's hardwired in our DNA.
It's not "better treatment."
The thing with women is they want the guy who take them on rollercoaster ride. A bevy of emotions.
Interesting study I recall seeing.
Women are drawn to men who possess what's referred to as 'The Dark Triad' of personality traits.
Machiavelliam.
Narcissism.
Psychopathy.
A guy who'a Machiavellian has no problem manipulating and seducing to get what he wants from a woman. Or anyone.
He'll do whatever it takes and step over anyone to get where he needs to.
A narcissistic male is more likely to be in supreme shape.
Psychopathy? Self explanatory.
A guy that teeters to verge of Psychopathy doesn't feel much.
Little to no empathy. Doesn't fear rejection.
Will actively seek out risky activities for a dopamine rush.
That unpredictability in turn excites females
Every day is an adventure.
Even if they settle with a Russell Wilson, eventually he'll bore them.
He's predictable. Easily tamed.
Women relish in drama, and most well to do guys don't necessarily grasp or understand that dynamic.
They're too afraid of offending her.
It's not that the a$$hole is treating anyone better. He simply knows how to take women on a ride and manipulate their emotions.
He doesn't fear rejection.
He's into himself and so a female wonders why he's so confident and becomes intrigued.
He's adept in the art of seduction.
He's there one minute, ignoring texts the next.
Just when she's had enough and is prepared to walk away, he pops up unexpectedly with jewelry and dinner.
The untamed stallion.
Women always seek the sperm from who they belive to be the most "alpha."
The alpha refuses to be tamed - a characteristic that attracts women who aren't too proud to admit it in the first place -
so the beta gets the leftovers and raises the alphas child. "Nice guys finish last."
The "alpha" proceeds with spreading his seed, hence the saying all women chase 20% of men.
All women don't have their kids, but all women at one point or another are primally driven towards those types.
Today climate requires women to choose their mate based on income,and stability. The "urge" is always lingering though.
It may not be conductive to long term success in this society, but it's definitely primitive hardcoding.
