People love to watch them, it’s easy money.

And the resident evil movies were trash from the jump because Sony pictures can’t help itself when it comes from deviating away from and fukking up perfect source material.
Resident Evil movies were trash because of Paul W Anderson. He ruined Mortal Kombat, made a mediocre Aliens vs Predator, etc.

The very first RE movie looked promising at first. The theme song made by Manson sounds very much fitting the movie. The opening scene is good too minus some bad acting by pedestrians. It's dark, mysterious, like right in what's supposed to be. The crew arriving to Umbrella Corporation looks good too. The scene where captain gets sliced once again is unexpected sick twist that keeps the audience interested (very similar to Aliens where sergeant gets eliminated early in the movie as well.

But once the Resident Evil reveals their cheap looking zombies + the rest of the plot going nowhere....the whole franchise goes straight to DVD status. That movie franchise looks like a money laundering scheme.

:wow:
You hit the nail right on the head. He had no business behind the wheel of any of those movies. All those movies deserved a director who was at least familiar with, if not passionate, about the source material smh. Just wasted money when they could have made something that would be in demand for years to come.

There actually aren’t that many high budget zombie films coming out of Hollywood.

ESPECIALLY not with TOP TIER writers, directors and cinematographers like this one has.

We usually get shyt like Resident Evil and WWZ. Not this.

This thing is written by freaking Alex Garland and directed by Boyle.

The cinematographers on this have both won Oscar’s. It’s pretty much guaranteed to be horror movie of the year, at minimum.

I hate that fukking guy

Gets to direct Mortal Kombat when he was a nobody as a director. I guess to his defense the movie was PG-13, so he couldn't do much with it.

Then next film he gets to do as much gore as he wants, in Event Horizon, and it still sucks and looks like another dumb sci-fi film that copies Alien franchise.

Then he actually gets to direct Resident Evil and the Alien/Predator films in which he flops. Who gave him such privilege? He's like a shytty coach who got to coach good players and did nothing.

NOt if it is as trash as 28 weeks later.
Plus completely has no connection to the Naomi Harris character.
