i been reading more about it. seems like there's a watermark in the audio we can't hear that survives through conversion and if your device picks it up it'll shut you down. so mp4 removes that?

All I know is if I download a blu-ray movie its either in mp4, m4v or mkv. PS3 will not play mkv files (which are too large anyway) so mp4/m4v always works. If you're on a mac like me then use HandBrake to convert your files to mp4/m4v.

PS3 can play .mkv files through the PS3 Media Server (that's a big head-up to all you anime dudes) but if the file is Cinavia protected you're fukked. Trust me, I spent a fukking evening trying to work around the Cinavia protection on This Is The End and eventually had to accept it was indeed the end and just watched the movie on my PC.
