Yeah, I caught tons of details on the 2nd watch. All the tiny details that aren't verbally stated make this movie amazingI'm realizing you could watch it multiple times and still catch something new. On the 2nd watch I caught:
On the 3rd watch (currently):
- Both Benny and Shaggy dreamed of leaving the City with their girl, having a farm and smoking pot but they died tryna leave. These were blood brothers
- Lil Z starting his bloodlust as a child and getting killed by children of all people.
- One of Lil Z's first altercations after his new debut was with Knockout Ned, foreshadowing
- Benny SAVED Blacky from being killed by Lil Z
- Blacky wanted to kill Lil Z as a result
- Blacky killed Benny on accident
- Benny might've lived if he didn't save Blacky
- During that same debut of Lil Z, Carrot was cool and giving him props like "You 18, a grown man now. Watch out!
"
In my top 3 of all time:
Killer Sheep
City of God
Salt of the Earth
You might like le haineI couldn’t find killer of sheep but I'm about to check out Salt Of The Earth. It's a black and white Mexican film, correct?
City of men was cool...it was a series about 2 brehs coming of age in the favelas...I forget which one..maybe rochina....it was more lighthearted but it was cool seeing all those black Brazilians and the amateur cast...If you like City of God, I would recommended "La Haine" and "Un Prophete"
Latin Amerixa don't even want black people in the yard much less a foot in the door like we have here.Latin America is still very third world also. So just imagine what would've happened(or did happen) if they tried. Argentina's black population was estimated to be around 25%in the early 19th century. By the early 20th, it was alleged to have dropped to less than 3%.
genocide anyone?
