Houston's city-proper is larger than Dallas's, but for the all intents and purposes, the dallas metropolitan area is larger, as it has to what amounts to a twin-city, Fort-Worth which has it's own suburbs and outskirts, included into it, so that almost doubles the population and economy of DFW. There's nothing like that in the HTX metro.

The comparison is similar to that of San Diego vs San Francisco, depending on whether your comparing the city-propers or the entire metropolitan areas. ATL is another city who's metropolitan population and economy is a lot bigger than it's immediate municipal population and economy would suggest.

HTX has some pretty important sattelite cities, like Sugarland and the Woodlands, though.
True...but despite all of that, cacs in Houston only focus on Dallas with their irrational hate. They do the same with Austin as well.

To me, it's kinda like Houston is the oldest sister hating on her younger sisters (Dallas and Austin) for being better at certain things. Houston has enough that it doesn't have to worry about other cities but Dallas is something that is hated culturally.

Houston feels like Dallas is bougie yet Houston has bougie tendencies too.

Dallas vs. Houston beef is like no other. :whew:
Houstonians would literally go into an atomic meltdown if Dallas beat them in the Super Bowl. Houston culture hates Dallas for the same reasons that Houston is successful and recognized.

SMH@calling Dallas bougie while talking about how much wealth you can have here, how we have a big theater district and other high class things. I love my hometown but hating on people and things is a culture.

Dallas vs. Houston runs deep. :wow:

Most people have family in both cities. :wow:

When Dallas area schools vs Houston area schools meet up in the Texas State Championship Game. :whew:

Ever since I can remember D.C always had beef with Baltimore and New York.

Back in 81, my father's high school went to the opening of the Aquarium and fought another school from Baltimore.

The kids at various colleges like Howard, Morgan and DSU used to get into fights at school.

Guys from Ledroit Park used to walk on Howard and beat the breaks off New York kids?

Don’t know how it is in other regions of Black Amerikkka, but I know that the East Coast is pretty much the most tribalistic one so we tend to be at each other’s necks erry once in a while.

But tbh, DC and Bmore don’t really beef no more, even on the college campuses. Hell my school, UMES, is one of the most hood ass HBCUs on the East Coast with students from DC/PG/MoCo, Bmore, NYC, Philly, Delaware, Jersey, and parts of the South and people get along with each other for the most part. Even when GoGo music is playing or Bmore/Jersey Club is playing during dinner or at campus functions, nikkas be coolin and just showing off their hometown dances. If anything, it’s mainly PG and Bmore beefing now but both of us pretty much mind our business here at my school. I have a few friends from Baltimore and they’re cool peoples, but most of my crew is from PG, DC, VA, Togo, Cameroon, and Nigeria tho.

The most DC and Bmore nikkas do nowadays is crack jokes on each other...Joanin on each other’s slang, accent, dances, and dress but other than that, a good amount of these nikkas are friends with each other.

Growing up in a mid sized city in NC

there are a couple other cities close by that are somewhat similar

we would always get pressed if we were in the neighboring city and niqqas found out we were from our town.

And we did them the same way when they came to our hoods.

shyt was weird. To this day I don't even remember knowing anybody personally from there. So I didn't have any actual beef. It was just on sight.

Remember this do told me a story about when New York try to take over Baltimore one time. It was kind of funny but needless to say always been beef along those lines ; New York versus DC versus Baltimore and Baltimore versus DC.
Yeah, my homie from Batimore said that at one time DC dudes started coming up there in big numbers to hustle, until they got run out, and the same thing happened at a different point with NY dudes. The DC/PG hatred in Baltimore seems much worse than with NY.

I always found it remarkable that DC and Baltimore were so close but the local (black) cultures were so different in terms of slang, dress, and of course regional music.

Funny I never got that in living Philly. I mean, I saw this a lot of white people but I didn't see a whole lot of New York Nigggas coming to Philly and stuntin' openly.

I have my theories as to why but it could have been that I just wasn't paying attention.

Who knows...

What kinda theories?

Yeah NC got so many cities, how does that play into the street politics in your home state? Especially with Charlotte, Fayetteville, Durham, W-S, G-boro, etc.?
