City Rivalries: Why do certain cities hate each other?

On a street level I had a dude tell me about Oakland vs. Sacramento. I need some nor cal brehs to explain this one to me. Seems mad random.

Yeah NC got so many cities, how does that play into the street politics in your home state? Especially with Charlotte, Fayetteville, Durham, W-S, G-boro, etc.?

Actually there's not a helluva lot of going to other cities unless it's to shop or bar hop. Or if you have to go to Christmas at Auntie's house.

People I know from NC always feel like "why the fukc would I go to Raleigh? Everything I wanna do is right here in _____".

I'm sure somebody is linking up across the state but not my peops. My homeboy been living in Raleigh for a few years. We bout an hour away. I asked his cousin had he been to his place. Niqqa was scratching his neck on some "shhiiiitttt. I ain't made it down there yet".

My cousin would be like "here in Durham" when we were in Myrtle Beach. I was like cous. You'very left Durham. It was in his heart on some ET riigghhtttt heeeerrreeee shyt.

Houston hates Dallas...and it's not even over street shyt.

I'm from Houston and always notice a lot of Houston folks (especially cacs) hate Dallas because Dallas gets more shine for being a smaller city. No other city in Texas or the world pisses off Houston cacs like Dallas. Dallas minds its own business but Houston folks simply hate Dallas and Dallas people for bullshyt reasons.

That's the first time I've ever heard anyone refer to people from Dallas as quiet and reserved

Back in 81, my father's high school went to the opening of the Aquarium and fought another school from Baltimore.

The kids at various colleges like Howard, Morgan and DSU used to get into fights at school.

Yeah but those transplants have kids and they grow up here and they rep town. My fam from Chicago, came down here deep back in the day str8 hustling. And guess what, they had seeds like me that’s NW Atlanta the long way. Atlanta isn’t full of transplants so much as it’s full of hybrids. Lot of us grow up in the house with whatever city swag our folks came from and outside on the blocks it’s ATL all day.

And B-Ham and ATL actually rock together. Probably the closet city to Atlanta in culture, we even share the same accent. I think folks get thrown off by ATL the city, but we’ve always been tight with Alabama

In the GA prisons it’s ATL and Macon vs everybody but especially low country nikkas. ATL vs Savannah in particular, that shyt is as old as time memorial in this state. Even on the streets sometimes in SAV them brehs will press you if they find out you from Atlanta.

My nikka in Atl they got a 20 plus year run of bronx nikkas going down there. Plus all their blood nikkas bang nyc sets. I can still find nikkas down south and find some Gkb nikka. Aatl is almost bout to be included as another nyc borough

You’d a been right if you woulda said Detroit, but NYC? Nah. NY nikkas is down here just like everybody else. But this ain’t Florida or Carolina, y’all don’t beat y’all chest round here like y’all do in them other places. NY brehs move humble, that gang shyt is clown shyt round here anyway.
