We’re not talking about SoHo and Midtown here. Those jewelry stores you saw broken into were also in some cases black owned sneaker stores in the back. If you’re gonna fukk up a neighborhood, don’t fukk up your own. The end result is that those smaller business can’t reopen and those spaces will be bought by more elite businesses that overcharge the community and price you out.

How is it "respectability politics" to say if you are going to loot and riot, do not fukk over the community? Both can be done at the same time. Burn and loot local businesses that are vulnerable but wont run up in the police precincts where the enemy is.
