I posted this on the Dyckman video thread and I think it's relevant here as well:

The video is interesting because you can spin it a number of ways. Fordham which is a short drive away was torn up and may never recover until big box stores move in. To those who say there's nothing to fukk up in Dyckman, there's nothing to fukk up on Fordham either. Both have their share of sneaker stores, jewelry places and small businesses. Dominicans don't get the benefit of the doubt because of the anti-Blackness which stems back all the way to the Caribbean due to their proximity to Haiti.

EDIT: There's a curfew in NYC that begins at 8. No reason to be on the block if you're not from the neighborhood.

The reason why he won was because we were that sick of Bloomberg and because he used his black kids to win the election. it also helps that some arenas vote extremely high for anyone blue.

He's right. The Mayor should have let the police do their job. All they can do is react not be proactive.

One thing I will say is that the looters fukked it up for regular Black people going forward. SoHo is already one of those neighborhoods due to many of the high end stores being on residential streets. They're going to be on edge more than ever after this especially if you happen to enter one of those businesses.

I thought the NYPD was a army? Are they just picking and choosing which "areas" to enforce? Considering I still see them going at protesters.

Like Tremont said earlier, we were tired of Bloomberg, but DeBlasio has screwed up at nearly every turn, and pissed off almost every city agency at least once during his tenure. Dude is looking BAD out here.
