columbia is a mess. after visiting a few cities down there i can see why people would risk their lives trying to get into america. poverty in america is luxury compared to what's south of the border.

Yep. If I'm following it correctly, the protests started off about some tax. Police began abusing/killing the protestors, and now the protests are also about police violence and frustration about Colombia in general?

I believe they were mad about the police first. I think what's been going on in the US lately has shined a light on the problem around the world because it's an abuse that happens everywhere...

Not sure when the tax stuff began but this is the first I've heard of it
