Why does the Arab world treat Africa and Africans with such brutality?
That breakdown doesnt really apply to this latest civil war and is dated. Ethnic groups/tribes which claim Arab origins are on both sides of the conflict as is their foreign support.
The RSF is primarily made up of fighters nomadic Arab tribes from Darfur. The Bashir Government deployed them in their war against the Zaghawa and Fur in the 2000s. Theyve gained autonomy through their funding and logisical support from foreign sources (UAE, Haftars Libya, Chad) and attempted to take over the state itself, which was the launch point for this war. Much of their looting and violence in this war has been inflicted on Sudanese Arabs who are the majority in Khartoum and Nile-adjacent settlements, in addition to their older targets in Darfur. Theyre also in alliance of convenience with the SPLM-N, a rebel faction that is primarily represented by the Nuba (non arab ethnic group).
On the other hand the Sudanese Army receives support from Turkey and Egypt primarily and has incorporated rebel groups it fought under Bashir. The Deputy President is Malik Agar (prominent non Arab rebel from previous civil wars). The Finance Minister Gibril Ibrahim is Zaghawa from Darfur and head of one of the main rebel groups during the 2000s Darfur War. Minni Minawi is another former leader of a Darfur rebel group now allied with Government.
