Just finished watching:

I feel like his heel turn was based on “if I can’t beat them, join them”

Thomas found a niche in the right wing side and he took the opportunity

Then, it was get rich and powerful by all means necessary..imma get mines type of mentality

Didn’t know he has a son

And Ginni is a crazy bytch

Besides all of that…it sucks how he grew up..specially his family treating him that way…is one thing when people on the street do it to you but your own family it’s a different type of wound.

What did his family do to him?
His father left the family when he was very young, his mother and brothers were living in dirt poor conditions so she sent them to their grandfather. Grandfather had a nice home and income but he was abusive and would lock them up in a closet if they did anything wrong. Grandfather kicked him out of the house when he dropped out of the seminary school due to racism.

If only his father had stayed and hugged him as a child. That would have been a much better timeline

Imagine not being wanted by anyone?

In his neighborhood his nickname was ABC, America’s Blackest Child, not in a good way in those times.

They claimed he married his first wife b/c she was the only girl that gave him attention.

Great PBS Frontline doc

Appreciate the link drop; just watched
Watching the documentary right now.

One of the hidden effects of racism is how it causes the weak minded to begin to see their racist bullies as superior.

Given Clarence’s history, I’m pretty sure the idea of a white billionaire spending millions on him made him feel childishly special.

Yep. Crazy that this joker used to look up to Malcolm X
