Check out your school's bookstore. They will usually have a jewelry company they work with. I got one, but yeah, I don't even wear it. It's not a significant part of my life.
If you don't want one, tell your parents that you appreciate the offer but a class ring isn't important to you and you would rather not have them spend money on something you are not going to wear.

who the hell wants to be 30 wearing a high school or college graduation ring. Most people i know who bought them wore them for a couple weeks and then put them up

i got one from HS along with undergrad and grad school

the HS one only cost me about 50 bucks unlike the other rings where i went all out on them..putting on my HS ring now, outside of wearing to alumni events, is a good indicator to me if ive gained or lost weight lol
