I've seen gifs of these old games for years but never knew what system they were from. I would love for japan to hop on that futuristic cyberpunk wave again. Fromsoft makes a future space souls type of game or platinum doing a cyberpunk stylish action game

yea alot of these systems they were out for were basically just computers.

Its rather sad how Microsoft had a strong Japanese following with the MSX but couldnt capitalize off it with the Xbox.

Mircosoft tried heavy to appeal to the Japanese audience when the xbox first dropped. Mad japanese games were on it but they just didn't mess with the system which I always thought was kinda weird since they love western media.

yup you already know

Megadrives music really fits Doom. I did a mod where I changed the original Dooms soundtrack with strictly tracks by megadrive, and the results were amazing

(Yeah, if you think it looks a bit like it came from the same minds that spawned Afro Samurai you'd be right ) Also, that's Carpenter Brut on the track. Crazy soundtrack.

And Hyper Light Drifter is pretty much built on the old school

Honestly, this game interests me the most, I posted some shots from it previously. it has a really nice Ghost in the Shell vibe with a little bit of Blade Runner & Akira tossed in

If I find out the name of the game. I might hope on it... I wonder if they got a translation tho?
