it's actually one of the more unique hogan matches in the sense that you rarely ever saw him tossed around so easily, so the comeback at the end and the epic slam made it all the more special. it really did feel like a come from behind miracle.

watch it bro. pro wrestling at its absolute peak.

Hulk/Dre obviously wasn't a technical masterpiece, but you can sense how big it was and appreciate it as the turning point in pro wrestling.

Personally, I'd recommend watching the build/promos in advance, too. One of the GOAT builds.

As for me, I've watched anything deemed classic from WWE or WCW...there's a lot of random Japan and NWA stuff that gets mentioned that I've never seen though.

The Flair/Steamboat trilogy from 1989 automatically sticks out for me

Also most Japanese stuff aside from 3/6/94 (Kawada/Misawa)

I haven't seen the Triple H vs. Chris Benoit vs. Shawn Michaels match at WrestleMania. Heard it was great, but after certain circumstances years later (yeah, THAT one), I don't really have the desire to go out of my way to watch it.

See it. as a fan of the sport, you owe it to yourself. The perfect finish the the greatest wrestle mania ever in my opinion. I never saw the rematch next month at backlash in edmonton.

I probably will when I go through past Manias during WrestleMania season. And I've watched some Benoit matches since then, but knowing they had a family celebration at the end of this one kinda weirds me out. Like I'm wrong for wanting to watch this.

you mean the greatest and most successful period in the company's history... the era that is responsible for more legends than any other in history... the stretch of time that is widely considered the golden age of professional wrestling ... hasn't aged well?

honest question. how old are you?

No, a lot of those matches haven't aged well at all. The WWF style at the time was ridiculously cookie cutter, and it's quite obvious there wasn't a large premium placed on having "good matches" in the traditional sense as most of the dudes involved had better work before and/or after. Of course, there are some absolute gems of the era, but when we're talking about in-ring product and great matches people have missed out on, 80's WWF is hardly where you should start.

There's a reason why Savage-Steamboat is so ridiculously praised, and it's because of how much it stood out versus a lot of what else was happening once the bell actually rang. On the other hand you had the likes of Flair, Sting, Steamboat, and Windham having matches of that caliber multiple times a year. :ld:

Greatest and most successful is entirely subjective, btw.
