:pacspit: if you cant fukk with a song like all that you are

this album was fukking special too like them rogen, jonah hill, james franco brehs doing comedy movies together. you can tell that these nc cats were just fukking around in the studio with beats that nicolay was sending em from the netherlands

:ohhh: think bout that shyt too, they never met during the entire creative process of this album

I was salty I didn't cop the OG on CD back in 2004. I managed to nab the reissue back in 2011 from ughh. I've been playing the Connected Instrumentals disc more than the actual album disc. Definition of music that is good for the soul.

Great fukking album. Not all joints are 10/10 but mostly superb work on here. "Come Around" was a staple. This is the kind of music people get nostalgic about.

My favorite joint on the entire project though? Always takes me back to 2003. It's crazy how my life at the time mirrored what was happening on that cover.

Yeah man. Beautiful album. LB/JL/FE was a big soundtrack to my life in many ways for the early and mid 00's.

Bruh, it's crazy how much I related to some songs off here. At the time I was in a serious relationship with a girl super long distance. We broke up around the time I heard this joint. Some of the tracks blew me away. I was looking at that cover like "damn... that's me. I been there!" The theme of being connected even though you're far and trying to make it work... dope. That's the kind of theme that isn't done much in hip hop and it was great to see someone do something new while keeping it hip hop.

and you have to understand - I'm not pre-disposed to like this kinda shyt. I thought "conscious rap" was mostly corny. I grew up on the gangsta shyt lol. I was almost 50'd out. I never liked Little Brother (though i loved 9th's production outside of Little Brother) and I think this is the best Little Brother affiliated project, period. By far.

Either way, one can't run away from real life and real music. That's why I'm so critical on the new school. Who's really putting in the time and effort to make music that hits you on a deeper level? Not just what's hot, or has some hyperbolic barely-thought-out 'message'... I mean real soulful thoughtful straightforward shyt from the heart.
