Horror movies are cheap to make and gets an easy roi.
Besides Mike Flannagan one of the top talents in Hollywood. If he wants to do the project, probably didnt take much convincing. Especially with Reeves backing it.
Mike got a lot of shyt in the works (signed production deal with amazon), so he probably doesnt have the time to devote to a show about Clayface.

Probably gonna be golden age Basil Karlo’s Clayface. Without the powers and just a murder mystery about a jaded actor. That’s if they’re keeping it grounded. Unless Scarecrow’s fear toxic plays a part in the movie. And people hallucinates monster Clayface.
