We know you as Clear Soul Forces but what are each of your names and how do you pronounce them?

Emile (e-meal) Manette (man-ett) aka e-fav, Jarred(jer-red) Douglas(doug-les) aka Noveliss, Jarrel (jar-el) Lowman(low-man) aka L.A.Z, and Kortez(K or-tez) Ilajide (E la-juh-day) Marion(mar-ion) aka Ilajide(his actual middle name)

We know how and when the group came together but when did you all start rapping individually?

e-fav: 13 years old
Noveliss: 15
Ilajide: 18
L.A.Z: 18

What was the first album you heard, after knowing the technical side of rap that blew your mind?

e-fav: that’s a tough one to answer but for me I’d have to say either Fantastic Vol.1, or The Slim Shady LP
Noveliss: It was written by nas
Ilajide: The listening by little brother
L.A.Z: Lord Willin by the clipse

For the producer of the group, What came first production or rapping?

The production was 1st but I started rapping a few days after that

When the group was first formed were there any compromises that had to be made by each of you?

We actually compromise all the time because we are all constantly evolving as artists and realize that if we want to survive as a GROUP we will have to lol

Do each of you share your individual knowledge about specific intricacies on crafting a song whether its writing or recording or do you just leave each other to do your own thing?

we leave each other to do their own thing for the most part, but we do have certain records that call for someones certain area of expertise so depending on the song depends how we craft it.

Is it a conscious thing that you are not effected by current trends or is it completely natural?

Its completely natural. One thing about all of us is that we’re all homebodies. None of us really club or do shyt like that so a lot of the trends that go down kind of just go unnoticed by all of us.

Do you think that technology will ever surpass actual organic skill and musicianship?

No i don’t think that will ever happen, there are a number of artists out there now who understand that being a musician is far more beneficial to you than simply being a rapper or singer. I know for me I never had an opportunity to take lessons and learn an instrument now that I know more I plan on learning how to read music, and play an instrument so I can contribute to our sound musically as well.

What is your favourite place to be apart from home?

e-fav: I’m not gonna say a typical ass rapper answer like “the booth” or “the studio” even though it is….haha so I’ll just say I’m not sure haven’t done much traveling for leisure it’s usually business, but I enjoyed New York, and Austin.
Noveliss: The gym
Ilajide: The studio -____-
L.A.Z: Nowhere in particular…im always into something new

What was it like when you first found out you had fans on the other side of the world?

It’s an amazing feeling to know it’s people in other countries rocking with us this is just the beginning!! thank you all we love y’all

What are your future plans as a group?

To keep going, stay creative, and to be in your city soon. #REVO woooorldwiiide!
