First reaction was probably to show them it wasn't real. Natural impulse to reach and show them, like kids do. This story has parallels to the (im calling him chinese) dude that just shot the guy in NYC because he heard a noise. I mean was he supposed to wait and find out what the noise was? If everytime someone goes "boo!" or you hear a footstep or door knob rattle you start dumping, you prolly shouldnt be a cop.

Even though they look out for their safety as well as public safety cops are trained to de-escalate, meaning not everytime that they see a weapon does it mean that its war.

Man, y'all can make up all the "wish upon a star" scenarios that you want...if a cop observes you reaching for what appears to be a firearm, after he gave you strict commands not to move, you are putting yourself at risk of being justifiably shot.

911 call released.....and the person who called police to report the "suspicious activity" said twice to the 911 operator the gun "was probably fake" and it was in possession by a juvenile. So the cop had a heads up beforehand it was a kid with a toy gun and still slaughtered him
