AAA gaming in its current model is not sustainable.

The thing is that if it's inhouse triple A development, the chances of recouping or profiting are better than outsourcing/3rd party. Not having to pay the Sony/MS/Nintendo fee helps big time

That's why I'm saying 'thank god for Nintendo'. The Switch has mostly indie games on there:



Nintendo fans aren't obsessed with bleeding edge graphics and 60 frames per second bullshyt.

There are PLENTY of indies on Xbox and Playstation.

If by doing fine you mean studios are closing left and right and everyone is in danger of closing because of 1 flop,yeah,sure.


I know it takes more brain power than your capable of to actually assess a situation instead of gobbling down what's shoved down your throat.

Don't get it twisted, I don't think he's wrong. But to say that AAA isn't sustainable isn't entirely true either. You just can't "miss"

...and they would make a lot less profit, if they made anything at all.

Btw Dishonored 2 was a really good game released last year that didn't sell well. Deus Ex as well.

Not missing isn't a sustainable model.

Sony's pool of studios shrinks every Gen. As does Microsoft and other 3rd parties.

Why do you think all these big names are jumping ship from these big studios to form small studios? They know what's coming.

The fact is the only studios sony have opened in the last while are small studios making small indie type games.
