I just learned about this in my environmental biology class there are several ways it can be combated more use of renewable energy, composting, green roofs, shyt here in Houston it's Hurricane season and I'm wondering if Houston tried to replace the cement canals with soil ones after Harvey which can help prevent flooding due to better absorption of the excess water and it can stop it from overflowing into other areas.

it is guaranteed we'll (meaning young adult today) witness crazy shyt in our lifetime and pretty much certain that our children will witness the complete collapse of global industrial civilization as we know it today.

It seems far fetched to think this is something that could occur in our lifetimes but it isn't. All it takes is one blue ocean event to kick in the feedbacks and we're pretty much done as a civilization.
