I dunno breh, McBride had some nasty goals for fulham too.
Link?

Because Dempsey scored one of hte best goals of 2012 against the biggest club in Italy in a European knockout match. That goal ended up winning Fulham the tie.

McBride has never scored a better goal for Fulham, unless you have him scoring a Martin Palermo-like 30 yard header.

:dahell:

EDIT: He's American breh, has played in the MLS for most of his career. Felt like i should explain

:dwillhuh:

The same way Dirk Nowitzki is German but plays in America

He had a goatee back when he was playing

Also, homie is trolling

Top 3 American to ever play. He was always loaned out to other clubs

Sorry Breh's. I know who Clint Dempsey is. @Cocaine Biceps and myself were trolling back and forth. He's the resident Mexican national team fan and I'm probably one of the 3 biggest USMNT fan on this site. Check the rep to see how long I've been down.

In the official soccer thread we'd already talked about Demsey's retirement. He got nothing, but respect from everyone in there. Which is pretty hard to do especially as an American. Honestly didn't think Clint needed his own thread as he's fairly unknown to people who don't follow the sport close.

Clint is an American legend as well as a Fulham legend. He was a clutch player who rose to the occasion for club and country. His goal against Juventus was a world class goal. My current American GOAT until Pulisic takes the crown which he's a long ways from claiming.

I feel bad that the first thing I thought was, "Great, we have a fresh DP spot now!"

I feel even worse that the second thing that I thought was, "Too bad he didn't do this before the summer window shut, we could have got that Peruvian winger who went to Turkey instead."

But God speed, Clint! You go out with a chip.

I figured Clint would finish the season and then bow out. Was hoping to get my Duece USMNT jersey signed before he leaves. Gonna be a little harder now.

As for the DP. Will be interesting to see how they go about it. Hope they can get someone during the winter window. Preferably someone from South America as I feel like they are coming her to prove themselves more so then the retirement route of an old European. Sounders GM vote is coming up in the next couple months. Garth should remain, but we need to have a good winter and need to start winning games in spring and focus on Supporters Shield and Open Cup.

Yep. I want to win CCL before any other MLS club does it, and we can't do that if we're punting the USOC and Supporters Shield competitions every year.

He had good positioning and anticipation, but you're right.

If there was a Clint Dempsey play to be posted, this should be it :

Especially considering the context of the goal.

No other American before him was ever scoring a goal like this. Not because guys like Donovan and McBride didn't have Clint's talent, but they didn't have his ingenuity and willingness to just try shyt.
