In a parallel universe:
- McCain won in 2008 because Senator Ryan never forced Seven to go to sex clubs
- Kerry won in 2004 because Edwards used protection
- Gore won in 2000 because Nader didn't run and Florida was irrelevant
- Bush won in 1992 because Perot sat it out.
- Biden won in 2016 because he's awesome and cancer left his kid alone
- Trump not only doesn't run, but backs the Democratic nominee if he hadn't been made fun of at the WH dinner immediately after bin Laden was killed.

The only scenario Hillary wins is Bill running for a third term.

Feels like this timeline is the parallel universe. Everything's weird now.

I feel the same way.

But then Ghostbusters was on cable last month. We'll never see that skyline again. Kids are posting on this forum right now who never experienced that skyline. To those kids, this has always been the correct timeline. Black presidents and missing towers, normal not exceptional.

She's not an "exceptional candidate" no matter how much you like her policies. Candidacy includes how well she campaigns and how likable she is. She failed on both counts.

I think this is what some people fail to understand. Politicians have to sell themselves like a product and it has to be a product that people want to buy. Hate it or not that is the reality and politics is a popularity contest. It's not intellectual. A lot if not most is emotional.

If no one is interested in you, the product, many people will stay Home and not get excited to vote for you.

I remember when obama first ran and yeah he was a liberal democrat who a lot of people agreed with on policy. But there was also the emotional ethusiasm I saw on the ground and just among everyday people. People buying shirts, bumper stickers, yard signs everywhere. Has nothing to do with policy but this tell you when Election Day comes, these people will be excited to step into the booth and vote for their candidate. It matters and can't be dismissed.


Ps. This is a stupid story though. I don't think it means anything. I really do think she had health issues she tried to keep under wraps though.

I actually felt sorry for her..... 70 year old grandmother who got ethered by two unlikely candidates, one time by a black guy with a Muslim name and another time by an orange buffoon with the highest negatives in history of polls.

When I saw pictures of her wondering in the woods carrying her grand daughter, I felt her pain.

If she had decided to just bow out gracefully, I wouldn't have a thing to say about her. But this is a Clinton we are talking about. They are similar to Mugabe in that the only way to take any power they possess from them is to pry it from their cold dead hands.

Trump is a lunatic and Clinton is part of the political mafia.

She seems more respectable on a surface level but she's just as likely to take actions hostile to both foreign nations and the general population, in ways more subtle than Trump.
