Unlikely, but could happen before Nov 8. Could be a 2020 preview.

Electorate clearly isn't sold on Hilltron. To even have been close to Trump is embarrassing with her experience.

Could Pence somehow pull out a victory if they threw him in there last minute?

Pence / Kasich 2016

:shaq:

The only acceptable solutions in 2020 where the GOP would have a chance, in my mind, are Pence, Kasich or Huntsman.

But what about Trump's rabid base? What would they do if he got the boot?

:ohhh:

Yeah, what would you do if he got the boot? :lupe:

I think he needs the boot at this point.

It depends who they replaced him with. Under no circumstances would I vote for Hillary.

I couldn't vote for Johnson based on the idiocy I've seen.

Democracy. They act like you're doing something blasphemous against patriotism if you don't exercise your right to vote, but these are our choices...

That makes sense, but why are some Repubs recommending Trump step aside and let Pence go if it's impossible?
Because they're posturing and they want it to be known that they stood up to Trump. Trump alienated white women which is a demographic they need. Now because they're afraid of losing the Senate or even the House (unlikely) they have to separate from Trump. It's just posturing. Moreover, Trump's demographic would be pissed and stay home or vote in Trump. Trump stepping down would be an even larger loss for Republicans.

I don't think Pence checks enough boxes for Trump supporters.

Trump has a personality quote stanning him.

Way too late for Trump to drop out. :russ:

And too early to even talk about 2020. But honestly I doubt the GOP has much of a chance in 2020 either unless Hillary's term is a complete disaster or they reinvent themselves. Demographics make it hard to the GOP to win a presidential election in general these days (since you can't gerrymander that) and any demographic changes are going to favor the Democrats.

Regardless of Clinton, it's hard for me to see the GOP winning unless they do significantly better with nonwhites, especially Hispanic voters. Problem is the GOP base is pretty racist and hates when Republicans try to appeal to minorities, so it's hard for them to do that.

Kasich could help get Ohio and would be a huge advantage. Plus, Kasich was kinda likable too.
