I will say Pusha T has wildly overachieved given who he is. He's been rapping exclusively about cocaine for 20 years and despite that has deals with Lego, Arby's, McDonald's, is a model for LV and Carhartt, signed a multi-million dollar deal with Adidas, etc.

You could chalk some of that up to being friends with Pharrell and/or Kanye....but who cares? Ultimately there's a reason he's where he is and Jim Jones is where he is. Or hell, Cam'ron and Mase as opposed to Jim. At some point you gotta learn to politic and network beyond random people on the block.

Nah, any other artist who had full albums produced by The Neptunes and Kanye and had these big name features, The Booth would be calling them a flop regardless of the content. Let Rick Ross or T.I. have albums produced by The Neptunes and Kanye that were critically acclaimed and had features from Chris Brown, Future, and Kendrick, there would be non stop clowning talking about how bad he flopped.

At what point did I mention music? I'm saying all the deals outside of music.

Hell, mentioning his music not selling like that actually reinforces my point.

That's the booth's problem..

I can assure you, fans of Pusha T could give a fukk less about album sales

I agree but that's not even the point I was making.

Dude was at the LV show promoting his music a year ago. A 40+ year old coke rapper. He did an Arby's jingle, for Christ sake.

At no point did anyone expect him to be as successful as he is.

He strikes me as someone who is a good people person behind the scenes, not the typical dikkhead rapper.

That, integrity, and his talent got him a long way.

Yup, being a solid guy with a pen respected by many will get you a long way. If Wayne and Push never had the issue, Drake would've definitely have had him on an album.
