We really didn’t need all these Pharrell hooks and vocals.
I actually like the hook on by the grace of God ,but I'm actually disappointed that his hooks sounded more like 8 bar verses instead of the usual call and response Pharrell usually does on feature hooks

Gonna wait until I get the retail on Friday before I make final judgement but off the first two listens, it’s better than TTCD but not as good as LW and definitely not in the same realm as HHNF.

The highs are very high on here - outside of the releases and snippets we’ve heard already, All Things Considered and LGSEO are fuego. The lows however are serious flaws to me. The placement of E.B.I.T.D.A is absolutely baffling - sounds like a N.E.R.D throwaway and very out of place on a Clipse album so the fact it’s in the middle of the tracklist is mind boggling. The beat switches are also very jarring as they don’t even make sense in relation to the beat that was just switched from. The Gospel elements also seemed very forced.

Lyrically there’s some top tier stuff on here but clearly their pen game isn’t as sharp as it used to be - people will say it’s better than what’s out right now but I’m comparing in relation to LW and HHNF which bar for bar, are two of my favourite albums ever.

Again, I’ll reserve judgement until I cop the retail on Friday - the version I listened to had some serious skips in the first track as has been said already and the last two tracks were mixed up. I also added the ripped version of So Be It that was shared earlier in the thread to my version - what I can say though is that that song elevates the album significantly so if it isn’t included in final tracklist or the alternative version isn’t up to par then it will be a huge detriment to the final product.
7/10. I think everything I said above still holds, although the beat switch on P.O.V isn't as jarring as on the leak with the Tyler verse added in.

So Be It part 2 - it's strange how one track can almost make or break the album. I added in the YouTube version when I listened to the leak and in comparison to the final iTunes album, the version of the album I listened to earlier this week flowed a lot better because So Be It part 1 has more energy than part 2. I've not checked back the thread since I've listened to the final retail but it seems like So Be It part 2 is a homage to G.O.D part 3 so I get it but it just makes the first part of the album feel a lot more pedestrian.

Overall, LGSEO doesn't live up to the hype for me - it's an okay album but for the roll out they gave this, I was expecting at least LW level. For a group that's as good and legendary as Clipse I expected more but I guess it was wishful thinking to expect them to deliver something as good as their first two classics this late in their career. So yep 7/10.

Edit: Plot twist - the snippet in iTunes for the album is part 1 but I have part 2 in my iTunes library as I pre-ordered it and it won't let me download the updated version :bryan:
