“Came back for the money
Thats the devil in me
Had to hide(hyde) it from the church
Thats the jekyll in me”

I had randomly re-listened to their first two albums within the past couple of months and had forgotten how hard their shyt slapped. Obviously Malice and Pusha are still top tier rappers, and while I still like this album a lot the production on those two first albums was so distinct, unique and was just so damn hard. On this album it feels like the production doesn't match the ferocity of the lyricism. I just really expected Pharrell to be in his autistic synesthesia bag for a monumental occasion like a new Clipse album, especially considering how much work Malice and Pusha put in.

The beat switch on POV:ohhh:

Tyler killed it.

Album has no skips. It feels like art. It's not very melodic, the verses themselves are so good they act as instruments. Some parts remind me of Mobb Deep's Infamous.

The birds don't sing literally made me shed a tear.

An instant classic and I don't say that lightly.

Nas' verse is the low point of the album (I LOVE NAS BTW). Bro sounds dated asf.
