Damn first critics were good but now its getting panned

p4k gave it a 6.5/10, stating pusha and malice delivered, but Pharrell was a failure

5/10 by Slant, mainly criticizing the musical composition of the album

That dude from slant gives poor reviews to almost every rap album (check his review history on Slant's website.)

As for Pitchfork... this is who did the Pitchfork review. 👇🏿

:dead:

Music reviews ain’t been the same since Me Too movement. There is an agenda to push female rap no matter how wack it is.

87% on Metatcritic. The Guardian gave it a perfect score.

t-dot till they bury me
Shared you with my friends, the Pops they never had
You lived for our fishin' trips, damn, I had a dad
Mine taught discipline, mine taught structure
Mine didn't mind when he had to pull a double
Mine worked overtime, smiled through the struggle
'Cause mine wouldn't let us feel what he had to suffer
See, mine made sure he had every base covered
So imagine his pain findin' base in the cupboard

:mjcry:

While I massively respect putting Birds Don't Sing as track 1, realistically I'm going to skip it most times if I play the album in order. It's a good song but I'd play it way more as a closer. Which is weird because Streets Raised Me by Mobb Deep is another personal track, and that's one of my favorite openers ever.

I also have never been a big John Legend fan. he just sounds kinda corny to me.

Verses on here are so crazy. I love every bar on here. The 2 weak parts for me are really that some of the production gets a bit redundant (Ace Trumpets and So Far Ahead in particular). And man, I may just be indoctrinated to the new school indie drug rap with no choruses, but I think some of the hooks on here are just not that great and not needed.

All Things Considered is so dope, but did we really need another The Dream hook after the Pharrell hooks? Just feels a bit overcooked in some places IMO.

I feel like I'm saying a lot of negative things, but IMO there's not as much to say about the positives because they're just so fire. I do think that there are more interesting discussion points around the negatives. No much is needed to say. Push and Malice knocked this out of the park. My favorite rapping I've heard all year, easy.
