  • Awful sound effects/sound board
  • I don't listen to hip-hop, i'm a reggae guy
  • I only listen to what rap my daughters tell me to so I know what's hot when I go to the club
Being in a modern day club with that santa clause beard is nasty work

People are losing their minds trying to elevate Clipse into GOAT conversations. This album is great and all, but in all honesty, Clipse are not on that level. If we're talking duos. Its almost disrespect.

Outkast
Mobb Deep
UGK
Eightball & MJG

>>>>> Clipse

Put their first four albums up against their first four and its not even an argument. Talent wise, its not an argument either.

I think the Clipse are great, but they are second tier. Comparing them to an Outkast or Mobb Deep is like saying Little Brother >>>>> De La Soul or ATCQ.
Ehhhhh, I’d rather listen to Little Brother than either of those two groups, especially today.

As far as the group comparison, it's all matter of personal opinion or preference. There's nothing wrong with anyone putting Clipse in their top if that's how THEY feel.

That's why I never rock with these lists that come out. It's all OPINION. Your region, age and personal preference to lyrics and flow will have you judge rappers based on your own criteria.

Not a fan of anyone knocking people based on their opinion.

Of course, its personal opinion and preference, but why even do that? Why is that necessary? Because if people said Migos was better than Outkast or Mobb Deep, the same grace would not be extended to them even though it would be personal opinion and preference.

I can't compare Clipse to a Kast, a Mobb Deep, or a UGK especially OutKast. Why? It is what they bring to a table as a duo. Yes, Clipse has bars, but so do the other duos. The other duos also bring much more to the table. Kast produced a lot of their own music and played instruments. Havoc produced the lion's share of Mobb Deep's music. Pimp C sang on, produced, and played instruments on a lot of UGK songs. These duos didn't need a Neptunes. The Neptunes don't take away from the Clipse's greatness, but they do enhance it where the other duos didn't have that because they were that.

It's all your opinion my guy. They have the right to say Clipse is better, if thats how they feel. Just like you have the right to state otherwise. I'm not arguing over anyone's preference or who their GOAT is.

Its not an argument because such an argument wouldn't even make sense. Nothing to argue over. Clipse dropped a great album. Cool. Why is there the need to elevate them and compare them where they don't compare? Let the music speak for itself.

And again, people have this grace, but when outlets like Rollingstone havr City Girls ranked over Dogg Pound, here comes the outrage. If its all opinion, why doesn't that same grace extend when its artists we don't like.

They told Bootleg Kev (I think) that they’re definitely in work mode right now.

He asked them is this gonna be followed a Pusha solo and then not another Clipse album for a decade and they said nah.

Interesting to see if they go with a fully produced project with Pharrell again - Pusha mentioned on the Joe Budden interview that he prefers the “one producer per album” model for the cohesiveness but I doubt that’s happening as Pharrell has so many commitments at this point.

Also not really interested in hearing a Clipse album unless it’s Neptunes/Pharrell driving the production as they/he knows how to produce them - TTCD is the case in point of what happens when Neptunes/Pharrell are not in the driving seat. I think Timbo could produce a great Clipse album though just on some VA shyt…

Push said in one of the interviews he hit Pharrell in Miami recently like “let’s lock back in” and that this time around they aren’t trying to go back to Paris and all that.

My guess is Pharrell is on break from Europe and all the Louis Vuitton stuff and they’re looking to capitalize.
