Game looks dope and this franchise deserves better than what it's gotten in the past. Clive Barker foolishly signed away the cinematic rights back in the 80's and stepped aside after part 2. The studio kept churning out movies to keep the rights from him. They finally reverted back a couple years ago.
The only two canon books are "The Hellbound Heart" (from 1986, which is what the first "Hellraiser" movie is based on) and "The Scarlet Gospels", which Barker wrote in 2015, well past his creative prime. Dude makes GRR Martin look like Pac when it comes to creative output....he hadn't written horror since the early 90's.
Anyway, this game seems to be canon so hopefully they don't f*ck it up.

One of the earliest horror films with an interesting depiction of the denizens of Hell that dish out eternal punishment there. The character of Pinhead and his dialogue made iconic by Doug Bradley's performance. Excellent costume design for the Cenobites. Great practical effects like the people coming out of Hell without any skin to speak of.I was never a big hellraiser guy...shyt makes no sense to me...and im an 80's baby...

Pretty much like any kind of horror then. People figure out the puzzle for various reasons. Pure ignorance, greed, curiosity, power, immortality, you name it.i know what hellraiser is... I just dont get it...

Looking at the designs from this movie, I realized how much the anime/manga Berserk took inspiration from it. Similarities are uncanny.

Even the summoning of four with an object and similar to the behelit summoning the godhand. This looks just like the dude in the above video.
