Sounds very amateurish, some good ideas, but most of those beats just sound meh, and cheap.
A lot of this shyt is mixed incredibly bad. Clams is like the only nikka that I feel is really pushing this shyt to the limit.
I genuinely like what they are trying to do, but they really need to put in more work, and really hone in on the sound.
Atmospheric music is about warmth, and I really didn't feel it, in any of those tracks posted. Good start, but like most modern music, they should work at it more, before releasing stuff.

As you will notice, a lot of these cloud rap types aren't the most gifted lyrically, so I feel like as though the production definitely fills whatever void that the listener might feel has been left behind. Nevertheless, a majority of these guys are pushing music from their makeshift studios in their homes, and the DIY aesthetic is definitely something I can appreciate and support.

Most of the music I love is DIY business, the sound itself while okay, can be better. Most of what i've heard just sounds somewhat, hacky, and not really well executed.

As Zeu$ said, the only person who's done anything worth hearing in cloud rap is Clams Casino. But most of his work in that 09-2011 period is stunningly brilliant.
If you care, I can give you a list of tracks to check out.
As far as I'm concerned, cloud rap is the only thing the new generation has created that is genuinely unique, fascinating and sustainable. They just need more Clams Casinos and ASAP Rockys to take their ideas to the next level
you ever peep witch house breh? more edm ish but definitely has some leanings in down south drum programming and cloud rap atmosphere.
interesting. I've heard the name 'witch house' but didn't look into it
That track wasn't my thing. Too dark and industrial.
