Tbh alot of the nikkas posted in this thread are just riding a wave and sound like shyt.

What really kicked this off was the kid from Newark named Bandmanrill who started merging the Bronx drill sound with the Jersey club sound. That song you posted is irrelevant. Cash Cobain who did the sample drill beats with B Lovee start incorporating that thump. Philly been having their own movement and now they're all collaborating. This shyt been around its the fusion with drill and hip-hop that's new its not really wave riding but regional commonality. Even 10 years ago in NYC you had the All In lite feet challenge and Jersey club mixes.

Bandmanrill was just rapping over Jersey Club beats like nikkas been doing in Newark and the surrounding cities for years. What made him different was he had a drill bop to his flow and that rap style is poppin heavily right now.

This is the video that kicked it all off before his Youtube got taken down. You even got Killa Kherk in there, one of the first nikkas to rap over Jersey Club 13 years ago, probably later than that. I think the samples is what fukked Bandmanrill over and he received too many copyright strikes but almost every video he dropped was hitting over a mill. This "Heartbroken" video was the first to go viral. Got taken down but somebody reuploaded it with shytty quality.

I know he gotta feel some type of way cause the Youtube shyt kinda killed his momentum. "Jiggy In Jersey" got it back but other people had already ran off with the style at that point.

The PGS Spenser dude you posted might be on to something. Shows you can just rap over this type of production without autotune or whisper/yelling cadences. Would be interested in hearing more stuff like that.
