I must say when i was on NY last month the lounge i went to had a similar vibe and people were actually laid back and not stuck up . Having a table might have helped but was still fun... not like the club scene the last decade.

The best thing about clubbing was coming back home and slipping into bed.
Every time I was back home in bed the moment I jumped in I always had a huge smile on my face

Why do people keep mentioning phones like we talking about concerts

Club scene died when it turned to ‘lounges’ and the venues, and the culture, became obsessed with VIP sections. The end

Cell phones didn’t kill it, VIP sections did. Sections used to be a small part of the club. Reserved for real ballers and friends of the owner/promoter/DJ. Nowadays, clubs can be 80% VIP sections with the remaining 20% being corridors basically. Not uncommon to have no real dance floor in a modern club. Capitalism is to blame here.

The drive to get every little penny from partygoers has led to the opening of a new market of spots that are anti-everything the big clubs stand for. I’ve noticed more loungey type spots and even damn near dive bar type spots popping more of late. A large percentage of people don’t want to break bank (or get treated like a plebeian without a table) just to have a good time.

Cell phones and social media have killed it. U cant even take a chick on a date and not have her take pics of some dusty Applebee's,clubs are the same way. It's all about a certain status u trying to portray. .

miss those flyer days and when u had to actually pull up to find out who all gonna be there. but you knew shorty that was popular would be there with her boujie ass friends. and if some fukkery occured in a dark corner of the building no photos would wind up online. vibes were immaculate at the palladium. then you go to the let out and hang in the parking lot

I only started hitting the clubs in 2010, when I went college. Social media was at the beginning stages, FB was the biggest social media platform at the time.
