If anyone ever saw my 90s fight thread from the ring , im used to fight Amatuer and did bjj for about 7 momths at the Gracie gym In San Jose to stay in shape , this fãs From 96-2000, what I saw from punk was that he really had no natural athleticism , he's not a natural athlete at all, no quickness and his stand up is worse than mine and I haven't trained in 17 years , he just started too late and his instincts just aren't there. I've been dropped 3 times cold in sparring but those 3 times taught me to keep my chin down absorb with my right hand up, amd make every movement count. Punk just doesn't have it. He's not quick he doesn't have that "on switch" when u see gall you saw a gameplan you saw experience you saw controlled movements p. Punk fought not to lose and honestly this was a stupid idea even for money. James toney was a hof fighter and couture had a lot of respect for him it was a cash in from the get go, but punks general attitude and approach , those videos alone showed he had no athletic base. I felt bad for him, fighting just isn't a game and 2 years at 37? Why bother.
@trick for the record I had a hard time with bjj my boxing and general rule book for how to stand and defend was hard for me, you don't square up in boxing but in bjj you do that for take down defense it was hard
