thats true, but i think the rest factors in. why kill yourself out there when you're not even getting put over? selfish i guess, but at the end of the day he knew it would move on without him.

But then that always begs the question. .after so many put this guy over, including the most over guy in the business today, who is he to get an attitude about doing some jobs for once? Yeah....Alot of the provisional changes from the Network payouts to PPV were a factor but this guy went ghost for 4 months while his fans thought he was gonna pop up in that last Chicago Raw....lol. He made them all look like complete dopes.

he has that Bret Hart vibe about him...he is great but no one believes that more than he does and in the end that might be what held him back and sent things in this direction

overall i give Punk a 4/10

If you have 5 million saved up you can retire as long as you can live off of about 120g's a year since say you can get about 7% a year of that 5 million thats 350,000 so you can live off about 120,000 and reinvest the rest obviously some years that 7% could be a 10% loss or a 25% gain but for the most part you will average about 7-10% in the market if its diversified and your just trying to match the market for the most part and not beat it

CM punk looks like the type who can live off of 50 g's a year and be happy...good for him

I bet he`ll be back at some point though.

He's one of those guys who has the passion for the business.

Yep. I still think he'll be back in the E someday on a part-time deal. Wouldn't be surprised if he takes a few ROH and Japan dates after this WWE contract is up either.

He can always make money on signings or even doing radio...he seems to have that cadence for that kind of work too. Who knows. Bret, Flair, and Hogan all make decent money just for appearance fees and signings...Once you become a real name, you're alright. Not everybody is Virgil status.

Your just making this up though you have no proof this Is why he left . He was doing a bunch of jobs for a year and even lost to reigns on raw stop spreading propaganda. Heyman said on my punk , hhh and Vince were in the room so no one knows the full story but them three . Same way yoi ran with the Batista doesn't want to job to Bryan stuff. You just keep hating breh

You arent off base here, but on the other hand..do you blame Punk for having a problem with the overall direction of booking? They have their moments here and there but for the most part, they are spinning their wheels and wasting talent.

I dont blame Barry Sanders for retiring :yeshrug:

He didn't have too much a problem with booking when he was going over Cena in all those matches, did he? When he went over the entire roster in 2012, no one heard him complain. He was all happy go lucky. But when it was time to lose a little bit to get other acts further along...this man who claimed to have wanted change let his ego get the best of him and he is now nothing more than another tale of someone who couldn't handle his position. Pitiful more than anything.
