After CM Punk made headlines for his early EA UFC 2 fighter rating, it was confirmed that Punk’s rating would not be an 85 like originally reported.

EA Sports UFC 2 creative director Brian Hayes confirmed Punk’s rating would change during a Twitch livestream of the game with fighter Demetrious Johnson. Hayes said to Johnson (transcribed quotes courtesy of FOX Sports):

“CM Punk in the beta right now is an 85, which is just placeholder. But the Internet just lost it’s mind over CM Punk having an 85 rating. That’s not what his rating is going to be when the game comes out.

I’m pretty sure CM Punk, when the game locks in, is going to have the lowest overall rating in the game. But when he does have his first fight, if he just lights it up and looks like a prodigy, we’ll have to go into the servers [and bump him up].”
