I hear you and to be honest I wouldn't mind him winning his first couple of matches (just to hear the hype and see how simple mma fans are) but I can also understand the crowd that want to see him get got. Mma is going to look Bush league if this dude can just walk off the street and win his first match. Besides he's a racist fukker so fuk himI don't know why everyone is rooting against him, he very well may lose but at least he has the balls to try it.

I feel what you're trying to say.... but I do disagree with the bold. CM PUNK love him or hate him isnt just some guy off the street. We already had a guy walk off the street and fight in mma and his name was Kimbo Slice. CM Punk is an athlete and make no mistake about it, real or fake... these wrestlers are athletes and they are tough to do the things they do, handle the things they have to handle, and do what they have to do under the short turn arounds and rigorous consistency. (MMA fighters, though they go through months of training, only seem to fight like 2-4 times a year. Fighting more than that is unheard of)
I dont think pro wrestling is THAT far away in distance from MMA in terms of "FIGHTING" since both there is striking and grappling tho adamantly in pro wrestling punches YES are pulled but to a degree a punch is a punch and a kick is a kick. Before this statement gets killed.... THAT FAR in comparison of saying say a pro golfer or nascar driver or tennis player saying "hey, I think I wanna leave my career and be a MMA fighter.
I think he will be alright
No one that matters is rooting against him. Just a handful of agitated losers on a message board lol.I don't know why everyone is rooting against him, he very well may lose but at least he has the balls to try it.

a nascar driver is in better shape than a lot of rasslers brah so you aren't exactly helping your point. Notwithstanding whether it be a pro tennis player, nba coach, bowler or fake wrestler any one of these coming off the streets to enter ufc and winning their first bout is not a good look. And I don't know why you mention kimbo when a street fighter could easily transition into mma esp the the HW division which is technically the least skilledWould you like to bold the remaining part after that sentence![]()

those spectacles were done in other orgs, in elitists eyes low brow companies. UFC is suppose to be the premier offering in the space, which is why they should be held to different standardsDamn... pressed send too prematurely....
Back to that "other athletes coming into the sport winning they 1st match is a bad look"
I disagree with that due to context. If it was a regular athlete or guy like you say coming in beating top fighters with ease... then ok maybe that dont look so good for MMA. But we know thats not the case.
Herschal Walker who hasnt played football since 97 came into MMA and for 2 guys at a comparable level damn near 50... and one and it wasnt a black eye for MMA. CM Punk winning again some no name similar level guys like him want hurt MMA either.
doing bjj as a past time and training in it for mma are 2 different things breh. I mean look at how long it took jacare to become complete hell till this day Damian maia still can't strike fir shyt. And in your statement there are a lot of "I am sures" which as we both know you aren't. I seriously doubt this has been some master plan from the beginning. Dude is being sued is unemployed and stands to make more in 1 fight than he made in a year at wwe. He needs the money and obviously has an affinity for the sport having done bjj as a hobby. I am sure some psyche will also say he is chasing the adrenaline he got from performing in front of a live audience, nothing more. But he aint coming off the streets though.
Yes it may not be much (and lets be honest, we really dont know specifically to what extent) but he said he's been training BJJ for the past few years right? And he's been gone from the E for a minute now.... I'm sure before he made this big announcement he was prolly doing some training all last year. Now not to mention.... Its pretty much the beginning of 2015 and the only thing announced is "he may fight sometime LATER this year" I'm sure dude prolly will be in a lot of training camps all the way up to his 1st fight.
Again, I'm not saying he's gonna be some monster stepping in, but its not like like Dana gonna give him someone on the level of GSP his 1st fight. He's not exactly "walking off the street and into a cage" I'm sure there is and has been a lot of preparation thats been going on behind closed doors.
Now back to the Nascar thing? Hmmmm, ok... maybe a Nascar driver is in better shape than most of the divas (their wrestlers) and fat fukks like Big Show. I will concede to that.
