he's not under contract with WWE so if his contract with UFC ends he can go anywhere he wants.

His chances were less than slim TBH. The UFC hasn't lost or gained much from this so IMO it would be wise for Dana to sit him down, and try to talk him out of this. He doesn't need to go back to WWE.
