Look at it from an industry perspective. There's a lot of money to be made in prisons and the companies that support them. Also real estate. If an area goes down it great news for real estate developers. That includes money made in government problems that. You really don't think the Brett Farve scandal was unique do you.

The primary goal of the country is generating wealth, and it's been doing a wonderful job at that.
As the recent influx of foreign investment has proven the country doesn't even need a solid middle class much less an economically mobile lower class to achieve those gains
with corporate consolidation, automation, and expensive housing in desirable areas it's only going to get harder out here and it's zero evidence that a modern new deal or g.i bill level legislation is in the pipeline to help

Unfortunately this is true. They will always be poor people. Hell illegal immigration is modern day slavery. Countries are built on the backs of the poor. Always have always will. Only thing you can do is try not to be the poor. Maybe if they can get fussion energy going we can start to solve it once energy is cheap and abundant.

You can see this in politics if you understand history. There was a time politicians who ran for office had to mention the poor. Now the poor are rarely ever mentioned when a politician is running for office...where as they always mention the middle class.

Well maybe if america diverted half it's military budget to healthcare and america's infrastructure and stop spending Billions it doesnt have for proxy wars against russia and china, maybe they can stave off poverty and get these people off the streets.

that middle class is steadily shrinking. these politicians know that and think they can solve it by forcing them to have more kids instead of securing safety nets and income for them through tax breaks

its no wonder the rest of the world sees america as entertainment. most of the world's politics is boring day to day stuff.

If American politicians actually solved real issues, they wouldn't have anything to run on and the people would be empowered. Can't have that. Instead they solve temporary/short term issues to make it look like they are making progress. They love recessions - you can act like you saved the day when we all know another planned recession is coming in the future.

But hearing this news, Black Americans should be asking themselves -- who do they plan to keep in this permanent life of poverty?

In the late 60s the corporations began their own secret civil rights movement. They slowly infiltrated government and got representatives to vote in favor of repealing things that were put in place after the depression to prevent something like that from happening again. They used conservatives, they used liberals. Whomever was in charge didn't matter because they knew that putting money in someone's pocket is how shyt gets done in America.

Republicans and democrats can argue all day about anything but there are two things they will always come together like voltron on: 1. socialist policies for corporations to protect them from the consequences of their stupid decisions 2. Spending on Israel and the military.

They will always back corporate power and that includes the military because Ira companies like Lockheed Martin and Boeing who eat off wars raging around the world. Eisenhower tried to warn the public about the military industrial complex and the people in charge ignored him.

We've got police walking around with armored cars and shyt. They aren't seeing neighborhoods as places where people live, but as occupied territory with insurgents running amok. We've got companies buying apartment complexes to jack up the price because who's going to stop them? We have shyttier airline service. The list goes on and on.

Like Corporations and the Government haven't been a working together as a team since the 1800s
