I don't see a problem with this. Bring all media under one platform. Compartmentalize and save some coin. Only a fool would be paying for both.
Yeah that Google Music cloud service is dope. Been using it for years. I don't even pay for any streaming services anymore but I still have Spotify for free listening and Google Music for my own library of hard to find songs, etc.

GPM has Dr Dre’s album Compton. YT Music doesn’t for example.
they should have done what he suggested, just rename/rebrand google play music as Youtube music.
YT music the app is fukking garbo.
