They are doing CNN+ to combat TyT, Secular Talk, Breaking Points and will eventually have podcasts to combat Joe Rogan.
Eventually there will be a call to moderating, then Secular Talk, Breatking Points etc.. will be moderated and will stop growing and sometimes be censored.
CNN+ will not, they will be known as an authoritative source, even though they lied the country into the Iraq War causing countless deaths globally and billions/trillions of dollars down the drain.

I know… I’ve bern in local news for 20 years. I’ve survived multiple job cuts. This industry is dying period Trump of no Trump. The same people that are laughing about it or whatever don’t watch anyway. Personally I don’t know how people could sit and watch them cable news stations all day but it is what it is. At least you can get useful information on local news.

Fox News is smart enough to play off both sides of the coin. when Trump was in office they hyped everything he did and everything his ops did, now with Biden in that's obvious material for them.
CNN doesn't seem as willing to go extra with Biden in office. They should be reporting all the Joe Manchin shyt, Kamala staffers quitting, etc and spinning it to be Pro-Biden if they want ratings. I peeped soon as Biden got in office they took the covid infection and death counter off the screen that they had up when Trump was in office

youtube, twitter, IG and other social media platforms killed the need to sit and watch a news show. you can just search for clips of topics you want to watch. same for sports highlights which is why sportscenter is dying.

I miss that ESPN News channel where they loop it every 30 minutes with the latest breaking news in that red box on the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
This is to be expected. They don't play to the left or right audiences as much as MSNBC and Fox News do, so they're really just kind've out of shyt to run for the 16 or so hours of live programming they have. The modern audience doesn't want news as much as they want someone to form and then regurgitate their views, so the other two channels seem like they do a better job of finding something for you to be upset about.
As such, CNN's ratings will be for more seasonal, or effected by current events. We're currently in a phase where government it's relative uneventful for most people, so they don't have a whole lot to drive coverage.

My immediate impression was that CNN didn't adopt a model that is sustainable. If they focused on journalistic investigation and bringing stories of value to light, they would have a smaller but more consistent viewer base.
They went after the cheap hits. I think any analysts worth their salt would realise the topic was easily accessible (greater competition) and likely to die down.
Going back to my first point. It is something I want to look into as I no longer believe the rules that govern companies are fit for purpose. You can tell a director to act in the companies best interest but if that is determined by the shareholders, it will not always lead to outcomes that are beneficial to the long term profitability of the company.
If you bought shares at a low price and were looking to offload them after collecting a high dividend for the year, you'd be more concerned with the short term. At least that is my consideration.

The usual suspects running interference for CNN.Mainstream, traditional news media is dead. Podcasts and social media are killing it.
The only news I watch during the day is Fox Business or CNBC. Both play in the background because my work revolves around it.
My Granddad watches the news while reading the news papers. I asked him why and literally got the same response. My grandparents work my nerves because watching all that news has made them fearfully of everything. I just rather die than live in fear.I thought it was just my grandma
