look at the GOP pre-reagan.

There are periods where parties flip in major ways...we've been approaching that brink for a long time now...theres no time like the present.

If Jeb pulls this off, he'll go down as a political titan.

What specific core ideas are you talking about? And what would Jeb cause in this scenario?

Jeb is a lot more socially liberal than most of the GOP base and if he had the balls, he could lead a charge against the extremist parts of the party. But it'd have to be as politically expedient as racial segregation was :manny:

Jeb "ban all non-Christians" bush is socially liberal? Jeb "Terri Schiavo" bush is socially liberal?

And the whole "social liberal, fiscal conservative" idea appeals to a pretty small segment of the population. A segment that's already serviced by the establishment of the Democratic Party. Libertarianism sucks and isn't even understood by most of its self identified adherents if you're implying something more along those lines.
