what folks don't realize is that the one drop rule is basically some racist shyt. it was used back in the reconstruction period during some court case involving jim crow. plessy v. ferguson. basically white is accepted and everything else is rejected. don't buy into the ignorance.

Africans have their own societies man. Their concept of "race" is totally different from ours here in Amerikkka. Africans don't run around calling themselves "black". They have a different system for grouping and indentifying themselves. What part of "race is nothing but a social construct" is so hard to understand?

I know that was my point exactly. and with that said, AAs need to break from that 'system' and view themselves as american citizens first and foremost. change their perspective of race that was previously dictated by racist white men during the jim crow days. as you can see by some of the comments here, they're having a difficult time with it.

I think you're missing the point. mixed people have been seen as blk people due to the insistance of american white people, why would you want to follow that law when black could easily dictate their own community by stating (like africans) that they are not. because, well, they aren't...they are biracial, a totally different genetic make up of people.

I just want one of these people on that side of the issue to explain how it benefits the black community to shun mixed people as not being black.
