Pathetic. :scust: Losing is a part of sports and life is general. I remember in high school we got our asses beat in one game. We lost 28 to 3. Our coaches were on our asses because we lost so bad but it motivated us to NEVER let that happen again. Yeah we still had a losing record at the end of the year but we never had a blowout loss the rest of the season.:yeshrug:

This "everyone is a winner" and participation trophy culture is hurting kids more than it helps them.
Mercy rules are normal.
The kids are 8 years old :dead:

Anything below varsity high school is more about participation and teamwork rather than competition.

Varsity sports on up though, all bets are off.

I was a head football coach in high school for 4 years. Sometimes you'd blink and be up 5 touchdowns. When you're focused on watching who's making their blocks, who's containing, who's doing their job, etc etc....the game gets away from you sometime. The last thing you're thinking about is not hurting the other teams feelings or giving your scrubs who don't try at practice a shot. And sometimes you'll rotate in your 2nd team and it will be the same thing.

I had the Athletic Director come down to me more than a few times to let me know the scoring was getting out of hand. But honestly...the Athletic Director probably shouldn't have been scheduling those games vs those weak ass schools to begin with.
