College success doesn't mean shyt.
We've already seen Cal with the Nets... Pitino (Knicks/Celtics)... Tark (Spurs)... Kruger (hawks)... Hamilton (Wiz)... Tim Floyd (Bulls)... etc

Plus Vitale, Montgomery, Carlesimo (i guess), Theus, Billy Donovan pussed out wisely..Stevens is up in the air so far.

Larry Brown succeeded but hes an anomaly.

now I get to be in a perpetual state of paranoia about whether this is going to happen despite cal denying it twice already.

why any college coach would give up guaranteed contention every year to deal with the headaches of caps/gms/fickle fans/whiny stars is beyond me....

stay in kentucky....where top players WANT to come play with you....or give it up and deal with kobe brehs

THIS!!!

These coaches are GODS on thier campuses that can hardly do wrong in thier fan bases eyes. Why they would ever give that up for 3 to 5 years max employment in the Pros is beyond me.

There are very few Pete Carrols out there.

They'll try their luck in the league and if that doesn't work out go right back to college

I think Cal has learned a thing or two from Pitino's mistakes. I also think Cal really enjoys helping Kids, we're talking about emotional fulfillment that can't really be matched by a paycheck, because he's already paid out the ass.

For the same reason anybody else wants to challenge themselves on a higher level. Calipari's done what he's done on the college level, but the NBA is the highest level of basketball he can coach, and he's failed there once, so he has something to prove.

Have low ambitions and be comfortable not challenging yourselves brehs... :troll:
