Dude was mad over when he was suspended by the Authority then that night he snuck into the ring through the crowd. Thought they were about to give him the brass ring to see if he could be a top guy.

Nope.

That Stardust gimmick had a ceiling and people who clamored that it had potential were fooling themselves. Like he was ever going to win the WWE title as freaking Stardust. :comeon:

They even didn't give him and Goldy the WM match. They just abruptly ended the feud after Fastlane. I believe they said the WWE didn't like the crowd's reaction to the match. Ha. But this year they force fed us a 10 person diva's match that fans gave 0 fukks about...preshow or not.

I don't think a single person thought the Stardust character would ascend to World title ranks, but I personally thought the character was loaded with potential as far as what it could do. It's just that to get legs out of that character, Chris Kreski would have to be alive to use his story-board methods for longterm booking. Or the WWE would have to hire Lucha Underground writers and producers to actually build characters.

3 years ago. Legit babyface making you care about the storyline.

Waste talent brehs.

Stardust can fukk off but I'll miss Cody.

Should've gave him a babyface singles run after him and Goldust beat the Shield at Battleground 2013

He was over AF at that point too.

The fact that that angle didn't launch him into superstardom is still :mindblown: to me.

Though Kofi has said when The New Day is done, so is he. :ohhh:

Good! Go somewhere where you'll be appreciated Cody.

WWE can't make their own stars, it's sad as hell because they have people like Cody just waiting for something to do.

WWE wasted this dude for years, he's talented as fukk. I'm glad he's gone and I hope he does well elsewhere.

Lol "WWE can't make their own stars"

*waits for Cody to get booked because he's a former WWE star*

:troll:

He's been stale for years, peaked and reached his ceiling years ago. He's been floating aimlessly for almost 3 years now, and revealed himself to be a real sack of shyt on Twitter. He's the personification of nepotism. He got hired at 21 with zero training, spent barely a year in OVW before getting called up, and was in main events with DX within a year of that. No one should be feeling bad for Cody or thinking he wasn't treated fairly. Dude got 10 years of employment strictly for being Dusty's son.

You basically blamed Cody for the WWE's infatuation with nepotism.

It also doesn't take a lot of common sense and comprehension to realize that you can still get the rug pulled out from under you and have bad booking during pushes, which very well happened to Cody several times. The WWE always has opportunities fall in their lap, and have failed to capitalize multiple times for years now

Cody will be back in 4 years, but right now he is just lost in the shuffle and forgotten. Great talent, but just needs a chance on the Indy circuit.
They could have made much better use of him, wade, & sandow down in NXT instead of letting them go. NXT's main event scene is super stale and it would do wonders for stale wrestlers do go down there and refresh their characters while putting over & helping build the new guys.

you know it's bad when a dude like Cody who was likely making north of a half a million per year would rather sit at home.

not to change the subject, but you know once they squash A.J. again tomorrow for the third PPV in a row he will likely be pushed to the side as well. wouldn't be surprised to see A.J. competing in pointless tag matches on pre-shows after tomorrow.

The only time WWE pulled the rug out from under him was after Rhodes Family vs Shield, and even that was part of a build up to Stardust, which was Cody's idea completely, and led to WWE finally giving into the Cody vs Goldy match...where they promptly shyt the bed, fukked up the finish, and killed the angle on the spot.

This lionization shyt of dudes who quit or get fired has to stop. Not everyone is misused by WWE. Cody is an average sized guy with a generic pretty boy look, a notable lisp, with a penchant for excelling at cartoony gimmicks, and only hired because of his name. He did well for himself in 9 years in WWE.
