Eh, sometimes. Not for guys that have been on the roster as long as someone like Cody. The mid card should be refreshed every 5 years or so. A big part of the staleness of WWE the past few years is directly due to how many guys have been around for years doing nothing, but still being on TV.

Cody - 9 years on WWE TV
Ziggler - 11 years on WWE TV in various forms
Ryder - 9 years on WWE TV
Cesaro - 4 years on WWE TV
Axel - 6 years on WWE TV
Wade - 6 years on WWE TV
Slater - 6 years on WWE TV
Primo - 8 years on WWE TV
Epico - 6 years on WWE TV
Swagger - 8 years on WWE TV
Usos - 6 years on WWE TV
Sandow - 4 years on WWE TV, nearly 10 years in WWE system all together
Miz - 10 years on WWE TV

And this isn't even taking into consideration the higher on the card vets like Mark Henry/Big Show/Cena/Orton/Kane that have been around 15-20 years consistently. Calling up NXT people and bringing in NJ guys and TELLING you how many new stars they have doesn't mean the majority of their mid card is stale as fukk and needs to be shuffled anyway. Sending those guys down to NXT isn't going to help.

If you've been on TV for 5 years or more and haven't been able to break out or completely change yourself like Kofi, you should be booted and replaced with fresher talent.

For one thing, that's why the WWE needs to use actual jobbers on programs. What's the use of repackaging someone if 3 weeks later they'll be beaten easily and repeatedly multiple times? That's why I can't really blame the wrestlers themselves. It's like the WWE intentionally caps guys, wasting everyone's time involved --- the fans, the wrestlers, and the "creative" team. Take Ascension for example (who I've thought even in NXT were just basic wrestlers with a good gimmick, entrance, and theme). They brought them to the main roster, changed their gimmick, and made them look like total jokes on commentary. Why spend the time bringing them up if that's the result? And look at them now, probably about to take an L to Primo and Epico next Monday.

Man he"ll always have that win over the SHIELD with DUSTY watching:wow:

shyt felt like I was a kid again..legit had the crowd into the match...you see people talk about storytelling and shyt and that match was the perfect example. You could show someone who don't watch WWE that match and they'd come out after watching feeling :wow: I bet.

I give major props for Cody for deciding to become his own person and controlling his own destiny. He was a true WWE homegrown and still relatively young. But, I think Dusty's passing played a role in his decision. I can understand where he's coming from in that aspect since situations like that can cause you to re-evaluate your life and your goals. Another person would have kept pushing towards an eventual mega-push; but right now, I think Cody wants to see what life is like outside of the WWE machine. I wish him good luck in whatever he does.

If all this isn't just a work, I don't expect Eden to stick around much longer either

Salute to Cody for manning up and stepping out. Even if his ceiling was mid card like some people are saying, he could have been used better in that role.

This dude's character work needs to be appreciated. In a time where gimmicks seem to be around less and less this dude went through multiple characters in a span of a few years. He reminded me of Mick Foley because he got himself over(though not to the same extent) and also got the facets of his personality over.

Ever single character was different, Dashing to Undashing was such a natural transition.

^This character had been psychology messed up by what happened to his face, his face was fine but his mind wasn't. This is character work right here, nobody is doing shyt like this nowadays. This dude always had 100 percent dedication to his characters and made sure they stood out. This entire promo didn't show his face, at some point you can feel sympathy for what happened to him even though his face being 'damaged beyond repair' was all in his head.
